Kevin Lee has recently signed with Eagle FC after the UFC cut him from their roster last month. Eagle FC is a fighting promotion managed by the retired UFC icon Khabib Nurmagomedov. The promotion will soon be coming to the USA as Eagle FC’s first event will take place in Miami next year.
Lee is one of the first biggest stars yet to sign with Khabib Nurmagomedov’s MMA promotion. The former UFC interim title contender will compete at 165 lbs instead of the lightweight division.
The fighter recently appeared in an interview on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani and spoke about his new contract with Nurmagomedov’s Eagle FC.

In the interview, Lee revealed that he will be accepting the payment for his fights via bitcoin. he said, “I’ve been investing in them (Bitcoin) since 2017. After my fight with Tony, I invested in Bitcoin all the way back then. And it honestly, when I had the knee surgeries, it saved my a**. Because I forgot about that money, but then when bitcoin blew back up that gave me some money to live off of.”
“It’s something that I really believe in and really believe that’s honestly going to be the big future. So to be the first MMA fighter who has a deal, a deal worth millions of dollars, in Bitcoin, the first one, there was some appeal to that for me.”
Ariel further probed whether the deal was entirely to be paid in Bitcoin, and Lee answered, “It’s entirely in bitcoin.”
