Charles Oliveira impressed everyone on the roster with a sensational win over Dustin Poirier in his first title defense. As of now, the Brazilian has cemented his position as the UFC’s undisputed lightweight champion. Meanwhile, he is most likely to face the #1 contender Justin Gaethje next.
At present, both of the fighters are engaged in a war of words.

‘The Highlight’ met ‘Do Bronx’ backstage at UFC 269 to congratulate the champion on his first title defense. Gaethje told Oliveira that he had nothing but respect for the champion, as he deserves the title. However, just moments later, Gaethje told the press that he can’t wait to break Oliveira’s face. “I saw a dog and I can’t wait to break his face. He gets hit a lot,” Gaethje said in an interview.
The lightweight champion didn’t like Gaethje’s switch and wanted him to decide whether he wants to stay nice or trash talk about him. However, ‘The Highlight’ has defended his actions and told the champion that he has obvious intentions.
@CharlesDoBronxs it’s called respect you fool and we are in the breaking faces business. My respect that night was just as real as my intention to take everything from you in your country @ufc #uhvaimorrer https://t.co/MjpvEv0Qy8

“@CharlesDoBronxs it’s called respect you fool and we are in the breaking faces business. My respect that night was just as real as my intention to take everything from you in your country @ufc #uhvaimorrer,” Gaethje tweeted in response to Oliveira’s comments.

Meanwhile, Justin Gaethje’s hot and cold attitude towards him did not impress ‘Do Bronx’. The Brazilian wants ‘The Highlight’ to remain consistent with his tone.
The lightweight champion told MMA Fighting on a podcast, “The guy is talking a bunch of c*ap the entire time, and when we meet face-to-face he says he has all the respect for me and what I do — and two minutes later he’s saying he’ll break my face and saying a bunch of stuff”

Oliveira also advised Gaethje to sell the fight in one way, either by being a nice guy or talking trash. However, ‘The Highlight’ must do it to his face, not behind his back.
There have been talks of Conor McGregor coming back to face Charles Oliveira. Meanwhile, ‘Do Bronx’ is ready for either McGregor or Gaethje.
