Joe Rogan is the host of one of the most successful podcasts, The Joe Rogan Experience. Along with being a damn excellent conversationalist, Rogan is also a massive fitness enthusiast. The stand-up comedian regularly enforces the importance of a healthy diet and exercise. But this grandpa might be a living contradiction to Rogan’s slogans.

An older man who ran an insane marathon while smoking cigarettes left the famous podcast host bewildered. But later, Rogan learned something interesting about this marathon runner and didn’t hesitate to disrespect him.
A chain smoker almost impressed Joe Rogan
Stephen Gilchrist Glover, popularly known as Steve-O was the guest for episode #1900 of the JRE, on Spotify. Both of them were left flabbergasted after they discovered a Chinese grandpa, who ran an entire marathon while smoking.
Glover pointed out an interesting fact about older people being healthy, despite their vices. He shared that it was rare to spot older people being super obese. The host agreed with this fact and provided an example.
The podcast host informed him of an old chain smoker who recently made the news and stated, “It’s better than being obese!”
The Veteran UFC commentator asked, “Did you see that guy…? Chinese guy, who’s running marathons?”
“That guy is f*cking hoofing it at 50 years old and he’s smoking cigs the whole way. Look at him! (laughs)”
Jamie Vernon, his assistant, put up a news clip related to the man and Rogan read off of it. “Uncle Chen. … Long-distance chain-smoking grandpa. Runs a marathon 3.5 hours.”
The man competing with younger people, while continuously smoking, absolutely amazed the pair of comedians.
The podcast host quickly changed his mind
Rogan, however, changed his mind. He stated, “So this dude is f*cking chain-smoking while he’s running a marathon… and he’s a grandpa!”
The time he took to cover the marathon impressed The JRE host, “But he’s running like a really good time, like 3.5 hours!”
But, he suddenly discovered that this ‘old guy’ was, in fact, younger than the 55-year-old. And Rogan felt that was not a huge accomplishment, as he could do better.
“Okay, hold on a second. Back up.”

“That guy’s younger than me. By five years.”
“So f*ck that. I just changed my tune.”
But Joe Rogan commended the chain smoker and stated that he accomplished way more than an obese person.
