Bantamweight star Marlon ‘Chito’ Vera had a disappointing outing last night at UFC San Antonio. The Ecuadorian shared the octagon for the main event with fellow bantamweight Cory Sandhagen. In a fight that went the distance, Vera lost by a split decision. However, the #3 ranked star did not make any excuses following the loss. In fact, he wants to get back to action as soon as possible and already has an opponent in mind. The 30-year-old took to Twitter following the loss, to issue a challenge to former champion Petr Yan.

‘Chito’ came into the fight riding a four-fight win streak. He had beaten the likes of Frankie Edgar and Dominick Cruz on his way to UFC San Antonio. A win over Sandhagen might have hugely helped him angle for a title shot. However, the ‘Sandman’ has spoiled those plans for now.
