Joe Rogan may not be a movie fanatic, but Spotify’s number one podcaster often talks about famed movies on the JRE podcast. The recent Tom Cruise flick Top Gun, based on the aerial saga, found critical acclaim and box-office success. Likewise, it found the attention of longtime UFC analyst Joe Rogan.

On the recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience podcast, his guest Fahim Anwar mentioned the sequel of the 1986 movie Top Gun and revealed he wanted to experience it in the theaters.

When the guest mentioned Tom Cruise’s role as a pilot, Rogan chimed in on the concept of the movie and said, “The movie is about the guys who are the best at flying the jets that kill people. They do that simply because they want to kill people… I’m just saying, it’s a wild subject for a movie.”

The JRE host added, “Like, this guy is the hero; the guy that kills people the best. And it’s kind of an indiscriminate way of killing people, you’re launching a missile into a f***ing bunker somewhere… You are not stabbing someone, not shooting someone in the face; You are launching missiles from the sky.”

Top Gun: Maverick, directed by Joseph Kosinski, is getting love from the fans of the aerial franchise (Top Gun). Currently, the movie has got an 8.7 IMDB rating and earned over $300 million worldwide.

Joe Rogan talks about Tom Cruise vs. Justin Bieber fight

In 2019, pop icon Justin Bieber had a message for UFC President Dana White when he posted a tweet to challenge Hollywood star Tom Cruise.

“I wanna challenge Tom Cruise to fight in the octagon. Tom if you dont take this fight your scared and you will never live it down. Who is willing to put on the fight? @danawhite?” wrote Justin Bieber.

Speaking to UFC vet Yves Edwards, Rogan brought up Justin Bieber’s callout and wondered why he wanted to take on Tom Cruise inside the Octagon. Rogan also predicted how the fight would go and said, “I think Tom Cruise will f*** him up.” Nevertheless, the two never fought.
