UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya took a stand for Joe Rogan prior to his fight against Robert Whittaker. However, many were not happy with Adesanya’s stance on the matter and criticized him. But it looks like the fighter is not too bothered about it.

In a recent conversation with ‘Flagrant 2 Clips’, he spoke about his support for the UFC commentator. He doesn’t like the tendency of people ‘holding’ Rogan to his past. Hence, ‘Izzy’ appreciated that the podcaster gave a sincere apology and handled the situation well.

Adesanya pointed out how much effort goes into each episode of ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’. Further, he also stated that people aren’t able to control Rogan and hence, all the issues are cropping up. He said, “It’s a systematic way of trying to take power away from someone.”

Adesanya had a question. Referring to the controversies Rogan has been tangled in, he asked, “Why now?”

“Don’t focus on what they want you to focus on. Focus on why they’re doing what they’re doing”.

Speaking about the pushback he experienced after supporting Rogan, Adesanya said, “I didn’t really hear anything. For me, it’s, I speak my truth. … He said sorry, let it go. I know the guy. He’s the nicest moth******er in the game.”

Apart from ‘The Last Stylebender’, several others from the UFC stood up in support of Joe Rogan.

Israel Adesanya: His MMA career

The fighter started his professional MMA career back in 2012. He has fought under a number of different promotions and managed to remain undefeated. In the year 2018, he fought his first UFC fight. He was just a few fights old in the UFC before he fought Kelvin Gastelum. He won the fight and became the middleweight champion.

After defending his title a few times, Adesanya challenged Jan Blachowicz for the light heavyweight title. Unfortunately, he lost and tasted his first-ever professional MMA loss. Yet, at the middleweight, he remains undefeated.

After defeating Robert Whittaker at UFC 271, Adesanya plans to next face Jared Cannonier.
