Israel Adesanya has a long-standing beef with Monster Energy and it is no secret. The UFC middleweight champion has removed Monster merchandise from the table during press conferences on several occasions. He has never given a concrete answer for the reason behind his issues with the brand. The Kiwi recently entertained the fans in a Q&A session on Instagram. Still reveling in the victory over Alex Pereira at UFC 287, Adesanya focused on non-fight questions.

Several fans asked about his life outside the octagon and his personal side of life. However, one curious fan wanted to know more about the issue he had with monster energy.

Israel Adesanya on Monster Energy beef

The fan asked, “Why you hate monster energy?” Adesanya had a silly response to the question and posted the same in his IG story. ‘Stylebender wrote, “Lol I don’t. It’s a funny story.” He also added the tea emoji after his sentences suggesting there was some hot gossip behind the issue.

Adesanya famously threw off a Monster Energy can from the table after UFC 243. He has covered it with his belt and taken their products off the table numerous times. Interestingly, he is not the only fighter to have a problem with the brand.

Former UFC champion Dominick Cruz has also openly called out Monster Energy official Hans Molenkamp for clout chasing.

When Cruz called out Monster Energy

Hans Molenkamp often shares pictures of himself with UFC stars. However, Dominick Cruz said he is doing that for clout. Monster is an official partner of the UFC and gives bonuses to fighters. Apparently, Molenkamp uses this as an excuse to get fighters to like and comment on his pictures.

Cruz was fed up with this and called him out to a fight. Therefore, after beating Casey Kenney at UFC 259, the former bantamweight champion called out Molenkamp.

While Cruz and Adesanya have issues with Molenkamp, he appears to be friends with top stars like Jorge Masvidal and Tony Ferguson.

Monster has its competition in the UFC now with Prime Hydration signing on as another official sports drink of the UFC. Now might not be the time for them to be making enemies with the stature of Israel Adesanya.
