Sean Strickland is back in the winning column as he edged past Paulo Costa in a rather close contest. Earning a split decision win, ‘Tarzan’ turned his attention to former president Donald Trump during the Octagon interview. Strickland came out in support of the 77-year-old regarding his recent legal troubles.

Donald Trump hasn’t had a good time recently as he’s been convicted of a few crimes. A couple of days ago, a jury in Manhattan found the former president involved in a few wrongdoings as he was convicted of 34 felony charges. And what were those felony charges related to? Well, the legal claim is that Trump falsified his business records. But Sean Strickland backs the former president, which was evident at UFC 302.

Following his win over Paulo Costa, the ever-vocal Sean Strickland got pretty vocal about his thoughts on how the legal system in the United States has treated Donald Trump over the past few months. He first of all pledged his allegiance to the former president as the 77-year-old watched the fight cage side and responded to Strickland with a smile.

Before saying a word, ‘Tarzan’ would get out of the cage to get a snap with Donald Trump to celebrate his victory. “President Trump, you’re the man, bro,” Sean Strickland stated. He would even rant at the legal authorities for trying to paint a distorted image of the former president who came to attend UFC 302 just two days after his felony convictions.

“It’s a damn travesty what they’re doing to you. I’ll be donating [to] you, my man. Let’s get it done,” Sean Strickland added during the post-fight interview while promising to help Donald Trump in any way he can.

However, that wasn’t the only newsworthy moment from his fight because Sean Strickland knows what he wants next. And if you’ve guessed it right, yes, it is a shot to reclaim the 185-pound gold.

‘Tarzan’ wants his belt back

Sean Strickland wasn’t crying out loud for his middleweight title rematch after he lost the strap at UFC 297. But in the wake of his victory against ‘Borrachinha’, the former champion mentioned that he’s been a man of the UFC and went on to compete against a fighter out of the top 5, and in return he wants the UFC to figure out when he could get his title fight since he is the no.1 contender.

“I want to fight for the belt. Hey, I was a company man, I fought a rank 7 guy. Give me it now. I did it for you guys. Give me that title shot,” Sean Strickland added as he made a case for his legitimate right to a title fight against Dricus du Plessis. But will Dana White follow through? That remains to be seen.
