If one were to make a list of flamboyant champions, Israel Adesanya would surely occupy the top seat. The middleweight champion has the flair and charm that has made him a crowd-puller. However, he also continues to divide the fans due to his peculiar obsessions. His dog collar before his fight against Alex Pereira made waves, and it appears the ‘Stylebender’ is ready to up the game once again.

The Nigerian-Kiwi fighter has faced the brunt of Sean Strickland‘s scathing comments recently. ‘Tarzan’ continues to target his fighting background in China. Further, he also mocked the champion for painting his nails. These remarks have made sure Adesanya claps back in a fashion that puts Strickland to shame. The middleweight champion has made up his mind to flatline the American fighter with the weapon of his choice, his painted nails.

The 34-year-old champion appeared in the UFC 293 presser and, when asked about what he planned to do with his nails, had an amusing answer. He revealed that he had planned to get drip tips for the upcoming fight. Moreover, the middleweight kingpin disclosed that he could also get his toes painted.

Adesanya said, “Drip tips. That’s my favorite. Drip tips because it’d be disrespectful to him them out with these ugly things. So yeah, I’ll do my toes as well in case I kick him in the face, which I will. So I don’t know if I’m gonna paint them.” Following this, the American Kickboxing star mentioned he wanted to get his nails pretty, and he was even ready to put sparkles on them.

“But I’m just gonna get them, like, pretty. Because if they’re not pretty, they’re claws and they’ll cut his face. So nah I’ll make them pretty. Maybe put some sparkles on them. Yeah, put some sparkles on them,” he added.

It can be noted that Strickland has been critical of Adesanya’s status as a UFC champion for quite some time. His focus has always been on how the champion carries himself. And if he is to be believed, Adesanya has failed to make his case as a champion.

However, their heated back-and-forth might conclude when both square off at UFC 293 this coming Saturday. It remains to be seen whether Adesanya will smash Strickland’s face with his painted nails or whether there will be a champion whom he can look up to.
