John Danaher is one of the most respected and accomplished BJJ coaches ever. His team, Danaher Death Squad, won many accolades over the years before they disbanded. From his years of experience in martial arts, he believes that size may come into play when two people fight. However, the most important aspect is technique and level of skill.
“I have always found that by far and away, the most important thing when two people get into a clash, skill level trumps everything else in terms of what’s gonna determine the outcome,” John Danaher told Lex Fridman.
He also mentioned Mark Zuckerberg’s well-documented experience in jiu-jitsu. That could come into play as an advantage for the 39-year-old billionaire. Danaher added, “From what I understand, his [Musk’s] proposed opponent [Zuckerberg] has almost two years of training experience in jiu-jitsu. That’s a big advantage. So it would be an uphill battle.” However, he isn’t counting out Elon Musk’s abilities.
The SpaceX CEO impressed Georges St-Pierre and his camp
Despite Elon Musk being a novice in terms of martial arts, he has impressed Georges St-Pierre and John Danaher for the amount of time they’ve trained till now. The MMA personalities have praised his intelligence and the ability to grasp knowledge fairly quickly. John Danaher said, “He deeply impressed both Georges and myself with his overall ability to grasp the subject very quickly. He’s extremely intelligent.”
I did an impromptu training session with @elonmusk for a few hours yesterday. I'm extremely impressed with his strength, power, and skill, on the feet and on the ground. It was epic. It's really inspiring to see Elon and Mark doing martial arts, but I think the world is served… pic.twitter.com/cq00A9Xnmw

When St-Pierre announced his comeback for a grappling match in the UFC, he stated that Elon Musk was much stronger than the average man. It was a big compliment from the former UFC champion and Hall of Famer considering that Musk is over 52 years old. That might come into play during SpaceX CEO’s fight against Zuckerberg as well.
Although there is a difference in terms of experience in fighting between both billionaires, their clash will surely shatter all kinds of pay-per-view records. Elon Musk has already mentioned that his platform, X, will be live-streaming the fight, and money earned from that will go into charity. We will just have to wait for the announcement of the date.
