Remember the ‘beef’ between Kevin Holland and Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson on the latter’s podcast? Remember when ‘Trailblazer’ was absolutely disrespectful towards the UFC and MMA legend, because of a silly joke the latter made on a previous occasion? Sure, Kevin Holland has 24 fights in the UFC, in just seven years with the promotion. We get it. Kevin Holland’s a tough guy. But does that warrant him being rude to ‘Rampage’ because of a silly joke? And let’s not forget, Holland is no stranger to taking shots at or getting under the skin of his opponents. On the other hand, ‘Rampage’ Jackson, on top of taking the blatant disrespect, admitted the fault on his part, showcasing what a true legend he is.

Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson appeared apologetic when he discussed the altercation with Kevin Holland during a recent episode of his JAXXON Podcast. He laid bare his thoughts to Rashad Evans, with whom he has a storied history. ‘Suga’ Rashad Evans knows how wittily foul-mouthed and crass his TUF 10 counterpart can be, and even though they were enemies, their rivalry never got personal or ugly. Between Jackson and Holland, he apologized to not only ‘Trailblazer’ but also to Michael ‘Venom’ Page for making a distasteful joke on social media, which the former UFC champion believes was the root of the infamous incident on his podcast.

Seeing that ‘MVP’ didn’t take ‘Rampage’ Jackson’s words too personally, having known each other from their days fighting in Bellator—the 46-year-old expected the same from Kevin Holland. But as we saw ‘Trailblazer’ just didn’t stop going at Jackson, and standing his ground in a way that resembled a school bully desperately trying to get under your skin—you know, the kind where someone takes rancid shots at you while appearing calm with a smile.

“I do feel bad about what happened with Kevin Holland because it was my fault… I didn’t know him. I made fun of him and ‘MVP’ on Instagram and I made a bad joke,” Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson stated. “MVP, he never responded. He knows me. We fought together over in Bellator and he’s an entertainer. I thought Kevin Holland, you know, he be talking sh*t while he fighting so I thought he was too… I am a fan of both of them.”

The UFC legend further stated, “We wanted to get Kevin Holland on the show and Bear hit him up… and Kevin Holland was like he starts talking sh*t. And I was like it was banter like us.” The choice of words from Kevin Holland on the phone didn’t really make Jackson think that the UFC welterweight/middleweight star was so touchy. He never thought the UFC star was literally raging inside because of a silly joke on social media. Moreover, things could have gone from bad to worse for ‘Trailblazer’ because his attitude and “bad energy” even riled up the podcast crew.

“He was like, ‘I’ll come on your show but we gotta spar’… I was like, ‘You don’t want to spar me’… and I thought we was cool. So when he came here… I try to get him [to hug]. Bro, he pushed me… I said, ‘You’re still mad about that sh*t?’ I thought he was joking. He’s like, ‘Yeah,'” ‘Rampage’ Jackson added. “He came here with bad energy and nobody liked him out there. I didn’t do sh*t… He [Bear] tried to give Kevin [a gift] and Kevin Holland was rude to him. A couple of guys behind the camera and stuff, they was already talking about jumping Kevin Holland.”

Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson claims talking about Kevin Holland’s ‘ego’ escalated the situation

Even though ‘Rampage’ Jackson didn’t like the way Kevin Holland was behaving on the sets of the JAXXON Podcast, he recalled another comment he made that really left a bad taste in the UFC star’s mouth. After running out of patience due to ‘Trailblazer’s impulsive behavior, Jackson would sound off on Holland, claiming that he had an inflated ego to be talking like that to someone who’s a legend in this business. That, for the former fighter, was the fuel that sparked their confrontation.

But despite the heated moment, Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson claims to respect Kevin Holland because he wasn’t wearing a mask, and genuinely being himself, despite coming across as a child. “He was mad at me but it was my fault…I said, ‘F*** you going to be rude to me?’ I said, ‘It’s your ego’, and that’s when everything started. But after all that, he got himself out, and he was upset with me, then I started liking him. He’s real. He kept it real,” Jackson added.

Following the altercation, many UFC legends and pros took sides with ‘Rampage’ Jackson for maintaining his professionalism, given the UFC legend’s infamous temper and brash persona. But it remains to be seen how Kevin Holland reacts since the legendary fighter has apologized for what transpired over a month ago. Who do you think was in the wrong?
