A new documentary series featuring UFC superstar Conor McGregor is now out on Netflix. Titled ‘McGregor Forever’ the four-part hour-long series explores the UFC star’s life from the infamous Khabib Nurmagomedov fight to his leg break in 2021. It also gives fans a closer look at McGregor’s life and how deals with the ups and downs of his career. Director Gotham Chopra witnessed many of those moments up close and recently opened up about some of those.
The 2018 fight against Nurmagomedov at UFC 229 was a grudge match for McGregor. The Irishman and the Russian had a feud that had gone too far and all their bad blood would be settled inside the cage. At UFC 229, McGregor tapped out against Nurmagomedov in a mostly one-sided fight, after the Russian locked in a neck crank in the fourth round.
Chaos ensued after the fight as ‘The Eagle’ jumped over the cage to have a go at McGregor’s teammate Dillon Danis. These are events that fans saw on the live telecast. ‘McGregor Forever’ offers a peek at the events inside the dressing room after the loss. After witnessing it first-hand, Chopra had a few things to say about how McGregor reacted in the aftermath of the fight.

How did Conor McGregor react to the loss at UFC 229?
In a recent interview, Gotham Chopra detailed how Conor McGregor dealt with the loss at UFC 229. He also gave his understanding of McGregor as a man, based on how he dealt with the setback.
He said, “We were in the training room afterward… everyone… including Dana, was in the dressing room… And if you remember after the Khabib fight, there was all this chaos, like guys jumping in the ring. And Conor couldn’t care less.”
Chopra continued, “He was like ‘That’s that. I lost. That’s all that matters.’ He was disappointed of course. But he’s also just like immediately trying to figure out like ‘How can I use this? How can I literally and figuratively pick myself off the mat?’ He’s just not distracted by other things.”

Chopra quoted McGregor, saying, “‘You don’t do this if you’re not willing to lose. Losing is a part of the game.’ And I just thought it was interesting how he knew how to make sense of losing.”
‘McGregor Forever’ is out for viewing on Netflix. This would be a prelude to ‘The Notorious’ one’s return to UFC along with the upcoming premiere of TUF 31.
