Superstars from the combat world often find themselves integrated into pop culture and art, perhaps more than celebrities from other sports. People like John Cena and Dwayne Johnson have as storied a presence on TV as they do in the WWE. Michael Bisping, Randy Couture, and Ronda Rousey, among many others, have left their mark on the television industry. After securing his title, Sean O’Malley shed some light in relation to this topic, with TMZ.
The MMA world boasts of some fighters such as Gina Carano, Georges St-Pierre, and Chuck Liddell, among others who later acted in movies. The new Bantamweight champion, Sean O’Malley, is at an all-time high. In his interview with TMZ, he spoke about Dana White and his UFC 292 event. Towards the end, however, the interview turned toward his potential involvement with acting. Sean O’Malley then unveiled some interesting updates regarding a silver screen debut.

The interviewer asked ‘Sugar’, “Do you think you’d do like acting? I’m sure you’re gonna have people who want you to be in movies and music videos and all of that stuff. Or right now is it hey I wanna still concentrate on fighting and I’ll do that later.” O’Malley nodded in agreement initially. He said, “Yeah, one hundred percent. I already got, I got offered an acting role, a decent one. And before the fight to film after the fight.” However, as the conversation went on ‘Sugar’ revealed he was going down a different path than Conor McGregor.
Conor McGregor is slated to star in ‘Road House’, a remake of a 1989 film with the same title. On the other hand, ‘Sugar’ elaborated, “I was like I dunno how the fight is going to play out so I turned it down. It was decent, it was a pretty big one.” In a disappointing turn of events for fans who might want to see more of the American champion, he confirmed that while he did get a “decent” offer, he had turned it down. For now, fans will have to stick to watching the Bantamweight champion defend his belt in the UFC.
