The former Fear Factor host pointed out that Coleman had a spectacular tolerance for pain. The 58-year-old bodybuilder then recalled the time he had a herniated disk.

Coleman recalled, “I was squatting 600. I remember I was coming up on rep number eight and I was sudden, payyah. It was a loud gunshot sound.” The bodybuilding legend acknowledged that this particular time he had taken a couple of weeks off and, as a result, lost a little strength. This layoff proved costly for the bodybuilding icon as his disk snapped.

‘The King’ then confessed, “I heard it [disk snap sound] and I felt it. But you know the athlete in you was like, you know, let’s go on, finish this up. So I finished up.” Following this, he admitted to Joe Rogan that he regularly had back pain that would eventually dissipate in an hour. However, it was not the case this time.

After going through mundane daily activities, ‘The King’ realized that even after 12 hours, the pain was still there and eventually he landed in an emergency room. However, the doctor couldn’t figure out what went wrong even after X-Rays scans.

Lastly, after MRI scans, the bodybuilding legend found out that the cause was a herniated disk. While most of the people would have preferred to rest for some time and recover, ‘The King’ opted for a different route. Thus, he disclosed, “So, I stayed at home for a couple weeks. And sat on the couch and then do anything. And two weeks later, I went back to the gym, first exercise was squats.”

However, this time Coleman was only squatting 300 lbs.
