Nick Diaz is all set to return to the Octagon as he faces Vicente Luque at UFC 310. The 41-year-old has not fought since 2021, and while fans were excited to see the 26-10 fighter return, a recent development put everyone in shock. A video hit the internet where a shirtless man who looks a lot like Nick Diaz could be seen sitting on the side of the street. The woman behind the camera even called the man out by saying, “Nick what? Are you okay? Are you alright?”
While many thought that the man was just a Nick Diaz lookalike, it seems like the unfortunate has happened. Diaz, who was infamous for his smoking habits, which even got him banned from UFC for a while, seems to have relapsed, as confirmed by his long-term girlfriend, Kay, as she revealed in her Instagram story. Taking to her Instagram story, his girlfriend wrote, “@nickdiaz209 Drug addiction doesn’t last forever. You either find sobriety, or it takes your life.”
It came as a shocker for fans since Diaz is supposed to be gearing up for his fight against Vicente Luque in a rematch from August’s UFC Fight Night in Abu Dhabi. So, the man in the footage is actually the UFC fighter Nick Diaz, whom everyone thought was just a homeless lookalike.

Ever since his loss in his retirement fight against Robbie Lawler back at UFC 266, there were major concerns about Diaz’s overall well-being. Now it seems like the situation has gotten out of hand and turned for the worse.
Daniel Cormier urges Nick Diaz to stay more focused
In a recent edition of The Good Guy/Bad Guy with Chael Sonnen, Daniel Cormier shared his thoughts on the much-awaited return of Nick Diaz. There were already rumors of neck issues when he went into his fight against Robbie Lawler, and that cost him the fight.

What’s your perspective on:
Can Nick Diaz overcome his demons and make a triumphant return to the octagon?
Have an interesting take?
So Cormier has warned Nick Diaz not to repeat the same error again. There surely would be ring-rust for the returning fighter, and to tackle that, he will have to be in his peak condition. He said, “I still think that’s a lot for Nick Diaz [fight against Luque]. Nick Diaz struggled with Robbie Lawler, and Robbie Lawler was only one fight away from retirement. Vicente Luque is not going anywhere. It’s a tough fight. I think for Nick, though, he has to be really locked in if he wants to go out there and not embarrass himself.”
However, Diaz seems to have done the opposite and might’ve even put his UFC 310 fight in jeopardy. The USADA will surely come knocking on his door for the tests, and only that will decide if the welterweight bout on December 7 actually takes place or not. But what do you think? Will Diaz be able to fight his demons and overcome this hard situation? Let us know in the comments.
