Volkan Oezdemir proved his submission prowess in Paris this Saturday. Defeating Bugdon Guskov with a rare naked choke, he was able to destroy Guskov’s aspirations. Despite having 11 first-round victories, Guskov was not able to resist the force of the Swiss fighter. Considering his recent triumph, Oezdemir expressed his thoughts with the MMA Junkie, crediting the undefeated UFC fighter, Chimaev. But before that, he had to say something about his ground game and his training camp with Chimaev.

He said, “I took it how it came, but I also put a lot of emphasis on my ground, now I’ve been training at All Star for my third camp. I feel really great. The first two camps were back-to-back. I just came, it was like eight weeks before the fight. So, full camp, a lot of volume, three to four trainings a day, really hard.” Moving further, he made his intentions clear, as he had a lot to express concerning the 29-year-old. He said, “Training with Khamzat, it was really tough. It put a toll on the body, then I was off two weeks vacation, come back again, another camp, felt overtrained, but fought.”
