Conor McGregor has been in the news for many things – from his ventures outside the Octagon to his return to ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ TV show. However, recently his father, Tony McGregor, announced on Instagram that his sister and ‘Notorious’s aunt, Pamela, had sadly passed away.

The former double champion was supposed to come back to the UFC in a fight against Michael Chandler. However, things haven’t yet gone as planned after he missed his USADA deadline for entering the testing pool. Additionally, he hasn’t had a good last few days as he was embroiled in an NBA finals controversy.

Conor McGregor almost found himself getting sued after he hit the Miami Heat mascot twice in the head during a skit gone wrong at the NBA finals. Fortunately, the mascot didn’t get seriously injured. ‘Notorious’ is currently staying in the United States. However, sad news has emerged from his native country of Ireland.

Conor McGregor and his family are in mourning

The former double champion and his family back home in Ireland are mourning the death of his aunt, Pamela. She passed away last Sunday as his father, Tony McGregor, shared a story on Instagram announcing the sad news with an old picture of him with his sister. He captioned it, “It is with deep regret I announce the death of my beloved sister Pamela 25/6/23 REST IN PEACE.

Conor McGregor hasn’t yet publicly commented on the loss of his aunt. Just a few years ago, his mother’s sister passed away during the Covid-19 pandemic. The pandemic affected many people in 2020. He issued a lengthy statement on Instagram regarding his aunt, Anne Moor.

The same statement also included his stance on the necessity of maintaining hygiene. Nevertheless, McGregor cleared it out in another Instagram post that his aunt did not die due to Covid-19, but due to some other medical complications.

Meanwhile, fans still wait to see ‘The Notorious’ in the Octagon. However, there is still a shadow of doubt looming around his return. He has recently mentioned that he intends to come back. Despite that, there is still no exact timeline as to when we’ll see him battle inside the Octagon.
