Former Legacy Fighting Alliance fighter Mariusz Ksiazkiewicz, who also appeared on Dana White‘s Contender Series in 2020, is now going to compete under the GFL banner. The middleweight fighter recently made headlines, but not for anything related to fighting. In fact, Ksiazkiewicz has been the talk of the MMA community due to a recent incident where he nearly escaped fatal consequences, prompting reactions from fans on social media.
It was a normal Wednesday night last week when Mariusz Ksiazkiewicz decided it was time for his children; two daughters, to go to bed. Thereafter, the GFL fighter decided to take the trash out and put it in the bin in a dark alley behind his house. However, little did Ksiazkiewicz know that somebody would be waiting there to stab him when he turned around. When he turned his attention to the wound, he knew right away that things weren’t looking good.
“I looked and there was a pretty big hole about an inch in my chest on the left side where your heart is. So I knew it wasn’t good. I plugged the hole with a towel and made the drive to the hospital while putting pressure on the wound,” Mariusz Ksiazkiewicz told Uncrowned. While reports claim that he did clip the attacker with a few punches before he ran away, the GFL fighter also admitted that he could have died if he hadn’t taken immediate action.

“I was really lucky. Not only lucky it didn’t really hit anything, but lucky to be alive,” Mariusz Ksiazkiewicz further stated. But guess what? The Canadian fighter did not even hesitate to come back to training just days after the attack. “I was just there this morning [at the gym]. Against doctor’s orders [chuckles],” Ksiazkiewicz added.

Fans express concern while lauding GFL fighter Mariusz Ksiazkiewicz
Getting stabbed and getting shot—while there are difference between the two, both these kinds of attacks can severely injure and perhaps even end people’s lives. As one fan commented on Instagram, “I hate it when that happens,” the whole community expressed concern for Mariusz Ksiazkiewicz’s well-being and health. “Looks like it barely missed his heart, thank God,” added another fan in that regard, as the GFL fighter managed to not get his heart punctured during the attack.
Given that Mariusz Ksiazkiewicz is an MMA fighter, one fan claimed, “Other dude probably ended up worse,” believing that the attacker may have gotten his due as well. But about knife stabbing, one fan brought up the recurring stabbing incidents that take place in the UK’s capital of London, “Does he live in London?” In the meantime, someone else urged authorities to “make knives illegal!”

And coming back to Mariusz Ksiazkiewicz defying his doctor’s order, some fans just believe the will power in him comes from his Polish heritage. “Polish bruddas are built different! Bro will be fine,” said one fan. Another brought up his homeland of Winnipeg in Canada, claiming that Ksiazkiewicz has earned his place in his hometown after surviving the near-death attack. “I’m glad he is ok, he is a true winnipegger now lol.”
While the fans found it amusing that Mariusz Ksiazkiewicz didn’t wait till for training until he was 100 percent, they were happy to see him in good spirits. But what do you think about his crazy experience? Drop your comments below.
