Tom Aspinall is a generational talent. So special in fact, that former UFC champ Israel Adesanya has already predicted that the Englishman will end up becoming the greatest heavyweight this sport has ever seen. And it is pretty easy to see why. Aspinall is essentially undefeated. The only loss on his UFC record came because of a freak injury in the first round of his first fight with Curtis Blaydes two years ago.
Except for this, he has won all nine of his UFC fights so far, and all but one of them via first-round finish. The remaining one was also won in devastating fashion in the second round. One important reason for his stellar success, according to Israel Adesanya, is his size and surprising girth.
“Aspinall, so far the way he dispatched Sergei [Pavlovich], oh my god! And he’s fast. I met him and sat next to him at [UFC] 300. Thick. And I was like ‘f**k, you’re a lot thicker than I would expect. The speed, I don’t know man. They [Aspinall and Jon Jones] gotta fight. But if they will ever fight, we’ll never know,” ‘Izzy’ told Andrew Schulz and Co. on their ‘Flagrant’ podcast.

In addition to his size, strength, and unprecedented speed for his size, the Englishman has a remarkably well-rounded game, adept at striking as well on the ground. Not to mention he is an absolute warrior, always willing to throw down from the very first bell.

This is why almost everyone in the UFC world, including Adesanya, wants to see Aspinall fight undisputed champ Jon Jones to unify the UFC title. However, as ‘Izzy’ pointed out, he may or may not get that fight.
Will Jon Jones vs. Tom Aspinall ever happen?
Jon Jones has confirmed that he is in talks to fight Tom Aspinall next. However, no one knows if the fight will ever materialize. After all, ‘Bones’ had been totally against fighting the Englishman long before his UFC 309 Stipe Miocic clash earlier this month. But since the event, however, he has softened his stance. But not by much.

Jones has said that he wants “f**k you money” to fight the Brit. How much exactly that is, no one knows. But some suspect that Jones may be trying to price himself out of fighting Aspinall. Well, only time will tell whether or not that is true. But the mere fact that Jones is demanding astronomical amounts of money to fight Aspinall should tell you something about how dangerous ‘Bones’ considered Aspinall to be.
The Englishman has opened as the betting favorite for a potential Jones fight, which is almost unheard of. All of this is to say that not only is Aspinall a physical specimen, as Adesanya pointed out, but also a hell of a fighter who may yet become the greatest this sport has ever seen.
