Do shamanic rituals give Alex Pereira an edge, or is it all just mind games?

Jiri Prochazka wasn’t happy with the way he got knocked out by Alex Pereira at UFC 303. But before that encounter, he went to accuse ‘Poatan’ of using dark shamanic magic. For many, it was a ridiculous thing to say, but the light heavyweight champion’s arch nemesis, Israel Adesanya, seems to agree with the former 205-pound, claiming that the dark magic is actually “real.”

“You know what Jiri said about the whole juju thing? Like that’s real. That’s real,” Israel Adesanya told Joe Rogan on the recent ‘JRE MMA Show’. He claimed to have observed a pattern similar between his last Glory fight went down in Brazil and his only UFC loss against Alex Pereira. “The last time I fought him in Miami, look… the guy beat me in the biggest arena on the planet, Madison Square Garden same way as the last time he beat me in Brazil.”

Things were looking in Israel Adesanya’s favor the whole time, but in both those fights, Alex Pereira somehow found the energy and the opportunity to shut down ‘Izzy’ with a knockout out. That, the former 2-time 185-pound champ claims, happened because of the spirits that support ‘Poatan’.

“I was beating his a**, had him hurt at the end of the first round… and then he gets me in the last round. It’s his spirit, his whatever, like ancestors or his people, that are praying for him… The way he carries himself. Something about him just, he knows how to recover well,” Israel Adesanya added. Would you agree with ‘The Last Stylebender’s statement about Alex Pereira using black magic in his fights? But before you answer that, it’s important to note Poatan’s response to these claims.

What does Alex Pereira think about people claiming that he uses shamanic magic?

Alex Pereira doesn’t really give a sod to those who question him about his spirits. He claims that everyone has spirits within them, and it’s up to them whether they want to believe in it or not. Pereira’s happy with the way his spirits have helped and guided him, and judging by his comments, he’s not willing to let go of these spirits, given how much success he’s had in his overall martial arts career.

“Well, everybody has their own spirits we’re not only made of flesh and bone, I’ve found mine. If he has not found his or if he does not believe, it’s not my fault,” Alex Pereira stated days before his UFC 303 rematch encounter with Jiri Prochazka. What do you think about ‘Poatan’s comments?
