Several notable personalities congratulated Israel Adesanya for his career-defining performance against Alex Pereira at UFC 287. Rap icon Drake was one of them. The Canadian star had previously lost a $2 million bet on Adesanya at UFC 281. However, that did not deter Drake from betting on ‘Stylebender’ again, albeit on a much lower sum. Only this time, Adesanya kept his promise to the world and finished ‘Poatan’ in a devastating knockout. With the win, they are tied 1-1 in the UFC. However, Pereira still leads the rivalry (3-1) and many fans are discussing the possibility of a third fight between the middleweight giants in the UFC.

Meanwhile, Adesanya is still enjoying the victor’s spoils as the congratulatory messages keep pouring in. Having won the bet on ‘Stylebender,’ Drake also had a few words of appreciation for the champion following his second UFC title win.

Back in November 2021, Alex Pereira knocked out Israel Adesanya in the final round of their fight to win the title. Along with it, he cost Drake a multi-million dollar bet on the New Zealander. ‘Poatan’ also used this fact as a means to troll Adesanya as he asked Drake to place his bets better next time.

However, the Canadian rapper did not waiver from his pick, but placed a much smaller amount on Adesanya this time. The 36-year-old earned around $2.7 million in winnings. In addition to Drake, NFL star Brandon Marshall had also bet six figures on Adesanya.

In a recent IG post, ‘Stylebdender’ gave a shout-out to Drake and shared his message after the fight for the fans to see.

Drake’s message to ‘Izzy’

In his Instagram post, Adesanya shared a picture of him in the archer pose. This was a throwback to Pereira’s own celebration that Adesanya used on him after the win. In another slide, he shared a DM from Drake himself. The rapper had written, “You are an insane manifestation artist.” This was a response to Adesanya’s message, “Bless you brother! I needed that moment. What a f***en ride!”

In the caption, the champion wrote, “Use your imagination to power your manifestation!” Adesanya manifested his win after constantly swearing about it for the entire duration of fight week. It is not surprising that he is still doing victory laps and lavishing in these messages.
