Israel Adesanya made his bold claim ahead of the all-important main event of UFC 284 for the lightweight championship. While making a tattoo, the former UFC middleweight champion spoke to tattoo artist Josh ‘Kamikaze’ Khune. Therein the duo made some predictions about the fight. Khune started the conversation as, “I think old Volk is gonna shock this world…”

Adesanya agreed and stated that they may be “biased”. Furthermore, ‘Stylebender’ continued, “The fight’s gonna be won by striking. Islam is a great wrestler. These guys are different man. Lightweights from the mountains. The way they’ve been working and showing, showing off is different. But again, Volk has done this like, he has shocked the world for how long now.”

Further talking about the fight, the 33-year-old continued, “Honestly, the striking is what is going to play a factor in this fight. And Volk gets taken down, he’ll get back up. He’ll get back up…”

The former UFC middleweight champion gave his predictions after analyzing how the fight will take place. He continued, “I will say Volk late stoppage. Late stoppage.” Khune also stated that Volkanovski might also win the fight via a decision to which Adesanya agreed. Furthermore, ‘Stylebender’ concluded by saying what he loves about UFC and MMA.
