Tim Simpson was recently a part of an extended interview with Submission Radio. While he had some other topics in the UFC to discuss, a question suddenly popped out as Simpson was asked if Dricus du Plessis was going to be the next adversary of ‘The Last Stylebender’.

Addressing the same, he said, “I think at this stage obviously we’ve got see how everything shakes out. Um, I think that makes sense I think at middleweight again. Big thing for Israel was new blood you know he has fought a lot of these guys so many times and when you are at his level he’s very good at staying focused and staying motivated but I think a new name, a new challenge is what gets you through eight to ten weeks of hard training you know.”

Ending his thoughts, he said, “preparing again and going through the game plan it’s novel and its new, so someone new I think is what he wants” But this was not the end of the story. Simpson was further asked about Khamzat Chimaev concerning his forthcoming bout against Paulo Costa.

It seems Simpson is certain about Adesanya’s next opponent. While responding to the doubt, he had an elongated statement to make. He said, ” I mean best-case scenario you know how fast Israel wants to fight he can turn around quickly early next year do one 2-3 months later do the other, and then do that.”

Furthermore, mentioning the name of the South African, he said, “I think both of those are opponents who’s next I think it would be Dricus is what I am thinking. You know, he is ready to go, it makes sense that fight’s already sold bang that out and then maybe see who’s next.”
