Daniel Cormier came back with an analysis of the fight at UFC 305. He gave his verdict on what lay ahead for the Nigerian Kiwi fighter after the loss. He said that retirement might be a better idea. He explained, “I ain’t going nowhere I am staying here. That is a tricky thing for Israel Adesanya. Because now he’s gotta go fight fights that would mean less than anything he has done for a long time. You know he had fought straight 12 title fights. He has now lost 2 title fights in a row. How long will it take him to order his way back to another championship?”
Adesanya addressed his future after UFC 305. After losing the fight, he immediately started removing his gloves, which caused some people to think that he might retire. Then the fighter proceeded to speak to Daniel Cormier for the post-fight interview inside the Octagon. He also shared his plans regarding the UFC, and he clearly stated that he did not want to retire.
He said, “I didn’t think this far. I didn’t manifest this. But look, I know you guys love me. This is where I started my career in the UFC. This is where I made my dream, right here in Perth. But look, I’m 35 [years old], I’m doing the right things and I know all you motherf**kers wanna see me lose, wanna see me down, but watch this – I’m not f**king leaving. I’m not f**king leaving!“ However, DC still thinks that retirement is a better option for Izzy, and this is what makes this entire situation a bit tricky.
