Is Jon Jones' potential return the spark the UFC needs to reignite its glory days?

Is it really it? Is Jon Jones on the way for his swansong? Well, the heavyweight champion hasn’t stopped talking about his retirement plans after he’s done fighting the former two-time champion, Stipe Miocic at UFC 309. But is there any way Dana White could make ‘Bones’ reconsider his retirement decision? Well, Israel Adesanya seems to have an idea for the UFC CEO.

The highly anticipated Jon Jones vs Stipe Miocic is just around the corner, and the main concern following this bout is what’s next for Jon Jones. The man with the most title fight wins has snuffed off any possible match against Interim title holder Tom Aspinall, which is one of the most talked about heavyweight matchups in the history of the division. However, ‘The Last Stylebender’ believes that Dana White could retain Jones’s services if he fixes the financial side of things.

The primary problem that most UFC fighters face is their pay. However, Dana White is known to go above and beyond for those who draw the most eyes to his product. As such, although Jon Jones has declared that he’s most likely to hang up his gloves after fighting Stipe Miocic, Israel Adesanya suggests that the UFC head honcho should be willing to splash the cash for his favorite fighter.

“He [Jon Jones] says he is [retiring], but who knows? Look, Dana just has to go [acts giving money] and then ask him to fight,” Adesanya told Adam Carolla. He’d further assess the upcoming heavyweight clash next month, leaning more towards Jon Jones to take the win, but since Stipe Miocic is the most decorated champion in the division, he feels it would be unwise to count out him so soon.

“With him and Stipe, I’m going to go Jones… But when you see what Stipe looks like… I haven’t looked yet but [can’t count him out],” Izzy added. Despite his impeccable MMA pedigree, most people are still doubtful about the outcome of the Jones vs Miocic clash.

Given that Adsesanya mentioned paying Jon Jones more, the heavyweight champion already revealed his paycheck for his upcoming fight. It seems like Dana White is compensating ‘Bones’ pretty well after all.

The UFC CEO is paying ‘Bones’ eight figures as per the champion’s revelation

The only thing that UFC fans want to see is a title unification clash between Tom Aspinall and Jon Jones, and some of them even went as far as to call out the undisputed title holder to accept that challenge. However, ‘Bones’ stated that he does not need to prove anything to anyone as he will be set for the rest of his life after the Miocic encounter. The undisputed champion had revealed earlier this year that Dana White was offering him a sum of $15 million to take on Miocic, and after that, he plans to sum up his MMA career.

I’ve already agreed to make $15 million my next fight… hell yah bro, I’m about to beat up this old man. Ant right off into the sunset,” Jon Jones stated on X (formerly known as Twitter). However, Dana White is yet to confirm this statement, which doesn’t seem he will, given that pay details are often kept confidential. Do you think Jones is telling the truth?
