UFC’s lightweight division just got another exciting fighter! At UFC Fight Night: Allen vs Craig, welterweight Uros Medic faced Myktybek Orolbai. Originally, Jonny Parsons was going to be the opponent for Medic.
However, he opted out of the event just days before the fight, due to an undisclosed reason. Replacing him, entered Myktybek Orolbai, on a mere 4-day notice. In a surprising turn of events, Orolbai defeated his opponent via a dominant performance. Afterward, he issued a stern warning for UFC lightweight champ Islam Makhachev.
Myktybek Orolbai thinks he can defeat Islam Makhachev

When the Kyrgyzstan-born fighter was announced as the short-notice replacement, and many doubted his chances in the fight. Regardless, he defeated all odds and put forward a dominating performance.

Just after the fight, he appeared in a short interview with InsideFighting. He displayed pure confidence in his abilities. “I am young prospect, 24 years,” he said. Moreover, he revealed his intentions to fight in UFC’s lightweight division. “155 (pounds), yes!” he said. Further, the young UFC fighter revealed his beliefs that he can beat the current UFC lightweight champ, Islam Makhachev. “I am future champ. Yes (about defeating Makhachev)”.
Myktybek Orolbai’s MMA record and fighting style
Orolbai started his professional MMA career in 2018. Moreover, he remained undefeated in his first six fights (5 wins and 1 draw). As of now, his record stands at 12-1-1. The 5’10” fighter has won 6 fights via KO/TKO and 5 fights via submission.

His only loss, against Khalid Satuev, came via a unanimous decision in 2019. Myktybek Orolbai’s fighting style is mainly influenced by wrestling. Moreover, he also has exceptional striking stills. Looking at his skills, the Osh-native can potentially do well against Islam Makhachev.
