This was the reason he skipped the celebration and walked straight out of the octagon after his interview with Daniel Cormier.

Alexander Volkanovski’s emotions got the better of him as he recovered from the knockout. The UFC featherweight champ was sorrowful because of the loss. It seems like the UFC 294 fight was Volkanovski’s final chance to avenge his loss and become the promotion’s next double champ. However, it all seems over for him, at least for now. Moreover, it was his first KO/TKO loss in the UFC.

In the post-fight interview, the Australian fighter made a special request to the UFC. “Keep me busy,” he said to the promotion’s matchmakers. Apparently, ‘The Great’ does not like long periods of inactivity. Even after this loss, Alexander Volkanovski showcased bravery and determination by accepting the fight at a very short notice.
