The videos and images show that Makhachev twisted his hand while getting off the dirt bike. His hand later got swollen. However, it does not look like too serious of an injury. Fans are hoping that he recovers soon and comes back to fight in the octagon again. This isn’t the first time Makhachev indulged in dirt biking since he has shown his love for motorcycles in many of his social media posts. Bike riding has the possibility of inflicting some serious injuries on the rider. One such example is former UFC champion, Frank Mir.

Islam Makhachev has always been told by his former teammate Khabib Nurmagomedov and former coach late Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov to avoid such hobbies since his career is the most important thing. Frank Mir serves as the perfect example for him. The former two-time UFC champion met with an accident while riding his motorcycle. His return from the injury saw Mir lose register 10 more losses. Many people have attributed the accident as the primary reason behind Mir’s career demise.
