While the Saturday night card promised fireworks and high-paced action, the fans feared the probability of another action, albeit on the sidelines. The stacked card featured the headliner of Jon Jones taking on Ciryl Gane for the vacant heavyweight title. Notably, the Irishman, who recently gatecrashed the ceremonial weigh-ins of UFC 285, also appeared in the stands to witness the action unfold. Further, he announced his pick for the main event. However, the presence of the UFC champion, Islam Makhachev, tensed the atmosphere. Given the history of both camps, the fans feared another brawl transpiring between the two.

Markedly, the 34-year-old, in interaction with UFC, expressed his emotions as he made the comeback to Las Vegas. The ‘Mystic Mac’ started the shooting of The Ultimate Fighter S31 recently and the fans will witness him in action after a span of almost two years. Thus, the Dublin-born added, “I like to see Jones fulfill his destiny of heavyweight and be successful. It’s a tough fight. I wish both men well. I like, Jones do it. I like Gane also though, you know. I’m neutral.”
