Yan Xiaonan is all set to go up against Zhang Weili at UFC 300. After defeating Jessica Andrade for a title shot, the Chinese fighter wants to brighten her record by becoming the champion of the strawweight division. She’s currently on a 2-fight win streak and she’s got a resume that rivals the best in the division.

Yan Xiaonan is married to Zhang Yang, the two are said to have had a long-standing relationship before finally tying the knot in 2016. Interestingly, Xiaonan got married and went inside the cage to defeat So Hee Lim at Road FC 30 over the very same weekend.

Clearly, her abilities to handle herself in the cage as well as her opponent are unquestionably efficient. She also went on to state that she was prepared to face the fighter even if it meant being late for her own wedding. Of course, being in the sport she is and given her level of commitment to the octagon, one would need a rather supportive partner. Her loving husband, Yang, a Beijing resident like herself fits that description to the dot. Yan Xiaonan is a rather private person and doesn’t reveal an awful lot about her relationships and family. She doesn’t post about her husband or family on her social media and keeps it limited to her professional life so you’d see training and promotional videos only.

Well, good for her. It would appear all those scruffles growing up have paid off quite well.

She even recalled an incident where she lost a fight which she cites as the only time she did. She went back home crying and her parents asked her to fight back instead of shedding tears over it. Now, years later, she’s come from fighting bullies to fighting champions. Are you expecting to see her win?
