A professional video editor who goes by the name of @castleemoji on Instagram posted about the viral video and revealed whether the kick was real or fake. The editor introduced himself as Chris and replayed the video where ‘Rocky’ did a volley kick with a basketball and sent it 30 yards away perfectly into the basket. The video started with Edwards clad in red shorts and a black hoodie jogging in the park. Some lucky fans were even heard calling his name in the video and he showed them a smile and a thumbs up acknowledging them. As he approached the basketball court, he saw some fans playing basketball and wanted to join them.

Encouraged by the cheers from his fans marched onto the basketball court and asked for the Basketball. One fan threw the ball towards him and he kicked it 30 yards away towards the hoop and it landed perfectly leaving everyone in shock. This is where the video editor goes to little sceptical. He said, “Everyone is talking about this insane kick from UFC Champion Leon Edwards that cannot be real. But check this out there is another camera angle.”

Apparently, according to the editor, there were two angles from which the video was taken so two people were taking the video from two different phones. Chris even admitted that he thought the video was fake so he studied the clip and the fans that it was one hundred percent real however, there was a catch because it might be real, but it was staged according to him.  He said, “But it is 100% staged to create hype for this weekend’s UFC 304 fight against Belal Muhammad in Manchester.”

What’s your perspective on:

Did Leon Edwards really make that trick shot, or are we being fooled by clever editing?

Have an interesting take?

He explained further, “With all the AI and video manipulation and everything like that these days, people would not have believed that one camera angle. So filming the same kick from two phones plus repeating it multiple times until that ball landed in the net is how they tricked us all.” So what the professional editor meant was that the kick was real but it took a lot of practice and was not done in the first attempt.  Nevertheless, the fans were completely awestruck and even Joe Rogan was impressed by the move.

Joe Rogan was in utter shock after seeing Leon Edwards’ kick

After kicking the ball smoothly into the hoop, the fighter dropped his famous line, “Headshot dead.” Just like the video editor, some fans were also speculating whether the video was fake or real. However, Joe Rogan was absolutely with the talent that Edwards seems to have. Rogan was so astonished that he had to share the video on his Instagram story.
