The noted Darts star and current World Matchplay champion Nathan Aspinall is a famous name among fans of the sport. Despite having the same last name and citizenship, Tom Aspinall and Nathan Aspinall are not related. The UFC heavyweight was born in Leigh, Manchester, to Tracy and Andy Aspinall. Raised in Atherton, ‘Honey Badger’ was influenced by the world of martial arts from a pretty young age. His father, in a selfless attempt to push Aspinall in his fighting career, quit his IT job and started a BJJ school to help his son with his training. Aspinall was just 12 when his father made such a sacrifice for him. Needless to say, it was worth it.

The heavyweight fighter went undefeated in his professional career. However, his only defeat was via an injury, back when he fought Curtis Blaydes, in 2022. After being out of action and recovering for about a year, Aspinall returned to the Octagon and became the interim heavyweight champion by defeating Marcin Tybura. Now, he is all set to face ‘Razor’ once again at UFC 304.

On the other hand, the World Matchplay champ Aspinall hails from Stockport. Despite being a darts professional, Nathan Aspinall was once scouted by Manchester United’s academy as a goalkeeper. However, his love for darts brought him to PDC, and has been throwing darts since 2012.
