Numerous UFC fans certainly missed the noted UFC color commentator, Joe Rogan’s value-added commentary at the UFC 293. Rogan often educates UFC viewers about a number of lesser-known MMA moves amidst his commentary. However, a large chunk of UFC fans might already know why he boasts such an in-depth knowledge of martial arts. He has also trained in multiple forms of it. But, after a prolonged time of experiencing severe headaches, he decided to give up competing in martial arts tournaments. Eventually, Rogan’s interest in martial arts landed him in the UFC. As his popularity grew, a large chunk of fans got to know that he never became a professional despite packing remarkable prowess in a number of martial arts disciplines.
This also had them speculating how good Rogan would have been if he decided to step inside the cage. Looking at his current age, it can be safely said that the fans will never get to see ‘the famous podcaster’ fighting professionally in the real world. But EA Sports made him take the cage when they provided Rogan as a fighting character in the UFC 2 and UFC 3 games. But after EA Sports’ recent revelation about the launch of UFC 5, several fans might be currently wondering whether and in what role will UFC 5 feature Rogan.

In the real world, Rogan’s commentary on UFC PPVs takes them to a whole different level. It’s quite understandable that a large chunk of fans will want to have a portion of that pleasure while gaming as well. But after the UFC 3, the option of choosing the 56-year-old as the fighter of your choice was discontinued. The UFC 4 further shocked fans when even his voice was excluded from being featured in the game.
With the release of UFC 5 getting closer every second, it’s apparent that a large chunk of fans are currently restless to know about Rogan’s position in it. However, reports say that the 55-year-old hasn’t been quite interested in doing the voiceovers for the UFC games. He ultimately decided to step down from his part in the UFC games. Numerous sources have also reported that this won’t change in UFC 5.
Can the gamers play by choosing Joe Rogan?
There are a number of gameplay videos on YouTube that showcase gamers choosing ‘the former martial artist’ as their fighting character. Looking at Rogan’s prowess in martial arts, the EA authorities provided him with a superb level of skills. It’s quite apparent that the gamers loved a character with such a high level of power in almost every department.
But this thing couldn’t continue after the UFC 3. The UFC 4 came without Rogan as an option to be chosen as the fighting character by gamers. Also, as already mentioned, the commentary during the fights excluded Rogan’s voice as well. Well, present reports say that the UFC 5 will be similar to UFC 4 in quite a few ways. Joe Rogan’s absence as a fighting character in UFC 5 is one of those primary similarities.
Why hasn’t Joe Rogan become a part of the commentary team in the UFC 5 game?
The UFC games started off pretty well, with ‘the famous podcaster’ going for real voiceovers for UFC 1 and UFC 2. A large chunk of gamers were pretty excited after having him as a fighting character in UFC 2 as well. However, Rogan expressed his displeasure and refused to do the voiceover for his UFC 3 commentary. Finally, the EA Sports authorities used chunks from his original UFC PPV commentary to create his lines of commentary in the UFC 3 game.
But EA Sports decided to get rid of Rogan’s character totally after the UFC 3 game. While having Rogan as a fighter has no links to the real world, the EA Sports authorities might have found the task of recreating Rogan’s commentary too grueling. The UFC 4 game excluded Joe Rogan entirely from his positions.

This can also become another point of similarity between the UFC 4 and UFC 5 games. Reports say that EA Sports authorities will be following UFC 4 and launch UFC 5 without any feature of ‘the ‘JRE’ host’ in it. But a few of them also revealed that a large chunk of fans are asking for an inclusion of Rogan’s commentary in the about-to-launch UFC 5.
