Sharaputdin ‘Bullet’ Magomedov faced and lost to England’s Michael ‘Venom’ Page at UFC Saudi Arabia. The Russian lost his unbeaten streak to a ‘Venom’ who knew how to dominate the distance with the creativity that characterizes him. In this way, he returned to winning ways after losing to Ian Machado Garry at welterweight. As for Magomedov, there are talks that the Dagestani will have to hang up his gloves, and that has riled up the fans.
On Instagram, a page called the ‘fight_riddle’ reported the breaking news that Sharaputdin Magomedov is slated to retire from MMA and the UFC at the advice of doctors in the UAE. Due to the greatly increased danger of brain injury as his vision deteriorates, no commission in the United States will allow him to fight. A few other posts online have been sharing the same information as well. If true, it is a piece of devastating news that will break the hearts of many fans. However, we would like to share that no legitimate insider has revealed such an announcement to the public yet.
So, it would be safe to say that this piece of information about his retirement is probably nothing more than a hoax. It is also worth noting that a day after the event, the popular 30-year-old fighter revealed that a medical condition afflicted him long before the fight.

Taking to his Instagram account, ‘Bullet’ shared a poster of himself with the caption that read, “The pirate sails into the harbor, but I will return! I knew all the risks when stepping in with such a nightmarish health condition and preparation. I felt that despite everything, I could still win—but it didn’t work out, and that’s it.” The true intention of the Russian is clear as day; he wants to make a return to the Octagon and get back to his winning ways again. But how did the MMA community react to the news? Let’s find out!
Did the MMA community fall for the hoax?
As soon as the post hit the internet, fans were quick to take to the comments to share their reactions. While it was expected that many would believe in the hoax and flood the comments with messages of sympathy, it was quite the opposite. It seems like the MMA community online takes their daily dose of UFC news very seriously. So, when they cross-checked the news and found no credible sources breaking it on the internet, they were quick to call out the Instagram page in their comments. Informing other users about it all being nothing but fake news, they wrote, “Take 15 mins to find the source actually posting this because it never happened if you looked,” and “Stop spearing fake news, dude.”

Several users even talked about Sharaputdin Magomedov’s aforementioned post where he shared his intention of making a massive return. Pointing out how the UFC fighter just made his intentions clear very recently, the fans shared, “Bro, this is fake news; 2 hours ago the man uploaded a post to his story saying the pirate will be back” and “His story says otherwise.” Another user claimed that ‘Bullet’ would surely be angry at the fact that such news of his retirement is being spread on the internet for just a few clicks. “Shara bullet is gonna freak out when he sees all this bs.”
However, there were some innocent fans who fell for the trap. Feeling saddened by the sudden retirement, they couldn’t help but feel overwhelmed by the announcement. After all, ‘Bullet’ just suffered his first loss and is just 30 years old. So, such premature retirement of a brilliant prospect will be really harsh for the fighter and his fans alike. Taking to the comments, the fans wrote, “If Shara Bullet retires, it’ll feel like a piece of the fight game is missing.” “I will cry, dude,” and “Bro, please no.” But seeing that this was all a hoax, the fans can finally breathe a sigh of relief.
