He was born on March 1 1995 and also has an older brother named Daguir Imavov who is also a pro MMA fighter. They were born in the ethnic Kumyk family in Khasavyurt, Dagestan, Russia. At the tender age of 9, Imavov moved away to Salon-de-Provence, France, where he started boxing. Interestingly, his father was also a pro boxer, and it was Imavov’s older brother who started fighting professionally before him.

During a previous YouTube appearance in MMA Fanatics, the middleweight star shared details about his childhood days. While he did not get inclined towards sports before a later age, Imavov claimed that he knew how to wrestle because, in Dagestan, wrestling is like an evening playtime for children. “I wasn’t in a sports gym, but I was doing some fighting. We would fight outside, and like I said when my father’s friend would bring his son, we would wrestle. It’s the culture. Everybody’s doing wrestling,” Nassourdine Imavov stated.
