Unfortunately, there isn’t much clarity regarding which promotion the undefeated fighter will fight for ahead. Harrison has been a superstar at PFL. But people want to see her clash with some of the best fighters of the UFC and Bellator MMA.
In a previous interview, Harrison revealed she had got offers from both the UFC and PFL. However, the fighter revealed little about those offers. Instead, she said that PFL was the ‘front runner’. So many thought that another contract with PFL was on the line. But nothing is set in stone yet.
Will Kayla Harrison move to the UFC?
While this is a question everyone has been asking, Harrison has not commented on it so far. But she has mentioned that she wants to fight the best fighters worldwide. Therefore, moving to the UFC might prove to be a good idea.
Harrison has mostly fought at the lightweight division but is open to cutting weight. In a conversation with ESPN, the American athlete revealed that she is hiring a chef and a nutritionist to see whether moving down to the bantamweight division is a viable option or not.
Harrison also said that she heard Peña would like to move up to 145 pounds. That would be great news for Harrison, as she would not have to cut as much weight.
Speaking about dropping down to the bantamweight division, she said (h/t ESPN), “Why not? I have to conquer one mountain at a time, though. Whatever mountain comes next.”
She also said that while earlier the PFL was the front runner, that is not the case right now. She added, “Other things have happened behind closed doors that I’m not entirely sure now what’s going to happen.”
