Republican candidate Donald Trump truly had a busy week. Right ahead of his rally at the Madison Square Garden, the ex-POTUS appeared as a guest on episode #2219 of Joe Rogan’s podcast. This undoubtedly allowed the business tycoon to target the key demographic of young male voters. The duo talked about an array of topics, from political policies to the existence of aliens, surely giving fans an exciting 3-hour show. But it is interesting to think about the impression the former President left on Joe Rogan.

Especially after knowing that the UFC commentator is not a big fan of Donald Trump. So this surely leaves the question of whom will the JRE host vote for in the upcoming elections. Will it be Democrat candidate Kamala Harris, or has Trump succeeded in changing his mind? Let’s find out!

The UFC host has quite a nuanced view of his political ideologies. Back in 2022, he described himself as a “bleeding heart liberal” after social issues such as gay marriage and abortion were making the news. At that time, Rogan claimed that it was the protest by the Republicans on these issues that stopped him from ever being a Republican. Even earlier this year, he revealed that he was a 100% left-leaning person when he lived in Los Angeles. However, he revealed that since then he and his ideologies have changed.

As a result, it was confirmed by Joe Rogan in 2022 that during the 2020 elections, he neither voted for Donald Trump nor Joe Biden; instead, he opted to vote for American libertarian political activist Jo Jorgensen from the Libertarian Party despite endorsing Senator Bernie Sanders before Joe Biden replaced him. But Rogan’s vote wasn’t to see Jo Jorgensen win, but because Joe Rogan did not wish to vote for Trump or Biden. He said, “I voted Jo Jorgensen. I knew she didn’t have a shot.”

While he has had major issues with Donald Trump, he did not vote for Joe Biden because he believed that the Democrat was too old to be president in his views. During a podcast episode back in 2020, the UFC commentator even said that he would rather vote for Trump than President Joe Biden. He said, “The pressure of being president of the United States is something that no one has ever prepared for. The only one who seems to be fine with it is Trump, oddly enough.” But what’s Joe Rogan’s rift with former President Trump?

Joe Rogan’s history with Donald Trump, and has it changed since?

Does Joe Rogan's skepticism towards both Trump and Biden reflect a broader disillusionment with American politics?

Have an interesting take?

There’s no proper evidence behind when exactly Joe Rogan started disliking Donald Trump, but it seems like it has all developed over time. Despite Trump being the savior of UFC in its early days by providing his hotels for them to host their shows, Trump’s divisive rhetoric and actions have managed to draw the ire of Joe Rogan. Back in 2022, Joe Rogan revealed in an interview that he refused Donald Trump’s multiple requests to appear on his show as a guest. According to him, he did not wish to help out the Republican candidate or endorse him in any way humanly possible.

He said, “Not a Trump supporter in any way, shape, or form. I’ve had the opportunity to have him on my show more than once—I’ve said no every time. I don’t want to help him. I’m not interested in helping him.” If that wasn’t enough, he again targeted the ex-POTUS while talking to Bill Maher back in 2023. While calling out both Joe Biden and Donald Trump as liars, he went as far as calling Donald Trump ‘crazy.’ The same year, he also called Trump ‘The King of M*rons’ while talking to Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy.

So have his opinions on him changed after the recent podcast appearance? Well, it seems like Rogan still maintains a neutral stance on the Republican candidate. It can be seen when Donald Trump asks Joe Rogan to endorse him. The ex-POTUS mentioned Elon Musk and claimed that he gave him the nicest endorsement, and it is something that Rogan should do as well. “He gave me the nicest endorsement. You should do the same thing, Joe, because you cannot be voting for Kamala.” However, Rogan simply laughed it off rather than simply arguing or giving a single endorsement throughout the 3-hour-long episode.

So is Joe Rogan in favor of Kamala Harris? Who will he vote for?

Despite often being at loggerheads with the opinions of the Republican party, Joe Rogan has stated that his ideologies and beliefs do not align with the Democratic party either due to their policies towards crime and freedom of speech. The UFC host speculates that there would be restrictions on free speech online if Vice President Kamala Harris is chosen as the new President in November. And while he did believe former presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was the only one who suited the job as per his opinions, the same cannot be said about Donald Trump and Kamala Harris.

While Joe Rogan believed Harris was ‘nailing it’ with the speeches and even won the debate against the Republican candidate. He said, “Whatever they’re doing, whoever’s writing those speeches and coaching her, she’s nailing it.” However, his conversation with Trump might have helped change his opinion of the ex-POTUS. However, Joe Rogan could not bring Kamala Harris on his podcast as the UFC host refused to travel to take the interview or agree to the term of keeping the episode just an hour long. Something that might’ve affected his opinions on her.

All in all, it is tough to guess who would get the favor of Joe Rogan. Right now, he stands in the exact middle politically and hasn’t made any political donations this election cycle, nor has he endorsed or accepted the opportunity to endorse any political leader. But what do you think? Whom will Rogan vote for? Let us know in the comments.
