Joe Rogan has the most successful podcast in the world. How successful, exactly? Well, according to Spotify, at least $200 million for three years. The streaming service had signed Rogan to a contract for that amount for three years back in 2020.

His contract is nearly over as the end of 2023 approaches. And that means Rogan will be a free agent pretty soon. And that has raised the question of where Rogan will go. Let us take a look at some of the possibilities.

What next for Joe Rogan after Spotify deal ends

Rogan started and grew his platform on YouTube, cultivating a large, dedicated audience on the Google-owned platform. In 2020, however, he jumped ship to Spotify in an exclusive deal with them. However, after the deal, he has a handful of realistic options.

He could stay with Spotify, albeit with lower pay as the platform looks to cut costs. He would not have to deal with advertisers and sponsors there, as Spotify would directly pay him. X, owned by his friend Elon Musk, has also made some big moves in the podcasting space, and he might be tempted to go there.

However, X does not pay creators directly but provides options like monetization and ad revenue from videos. Rumble is another contender, but it relies on a licensing and advertising model, which means he would have to rely on flaky sponsors, like on X.

A return to YouTube could also be considered, but its somewhat censorious monetization regime, which Rogan is already a critic of, makes that unlikely. Therefore, staying at Spotify with a lower-value deal may be the best bet for Rogan.

Joe Rogan puts Elon Musk’s Cybertruck through unique test

A few days ago, Tesla CEO Elon Musk appeared on the JRE podcast for the fourth time. He brought Tesla’s upcoming Cybertruck with him, which is scheduled to begin deliveries in late November this year.  It is a fully electric pick-up truck known for its unorthodox design and sheer, stainless steel body.

And Rogan made a bet with the tech titan that he could penetrate the truck with an arrow, to which Musk readily agreed. The two men went down to the garage immediately, and the podcast host tried to shoot an arrow on the side of the truck. It did no damage, however, glancing off the side, and exploded. What do you think should be Rogan’s next move following the expiration of his Spotify deal? Let us know in the comments section below.
