The 30-year-old Australian welterweight contender married Aaddy Dee, his long-time girlfriend. Their love story is no secret to those who follow them on social media. Matthews often treats his followers with pictures of him and his family together. Without a doubt, the couple have always looked jolly and happy in the posts on Instagram.

However, his wife’s life has remained a secret for many. Fans have speculated that Dee’s age is around 25-30 years, with the two celebrating her birthday on the 10th of September. His wife is not the only family we know of. The mixed martial artist also has fathered a son and a daughter.
‘The Celtic Kid’ is a father of two
Matthews and Dee were blessed with a cute little boy on the 17th of February, 2022, and the couple named him Santino James Matthews. Needless to say, the Australian fighter shared some adorable pictures on his Instagram page. But did you know that his daughter played a major role in taking the pain out of losing his bout against Tony Martin?
In an interview with the UFC, after he fought Martin at UFC 243, Matthews revealed that he was happy with his performance till he was choked out by his opponent. Undeniably, losing a fight in one’s homeland comes as a shock. Although it did the same to ‘The Celtic Kid’, he revealed that his daughter was the one who took off some of the pain.

The Melbourne native said, “I had a daughter due four weeks after that fight. My mind was definitely in that fight, but having the baby definitely took the sting off of losing that fight.” When the little girl was born, Matthews took to X and shared a picture of him snipping off the umbilical cord, on January 5, 2019. He welcomed his daughter, Alani Matthews, in a grand style indeed.
As the interview with UFC continued, Matthews revealed that he simply couldn’t wait for the day when he could teach little Alani the arts of wrestling and jiu-jitsu. After all, it is indeed one of the few wishes a fighter dad has, don’t you think?
