Former interim welterweight champion Colby Covington lashed out at Jorge Masvidal for calling him a fragile fighter. ‘Chaos’ took a dig at ‘Gamebred’ by reminding him of a devastating knockout loss.
Colby Covington and Kamaru Usman are scheduled to take on each other in a welterweight title rematch at UFC 268. Ahead of the rematch, Masvidal gave his predictions on the rematch and backed the Nigerian for the win. He also claimed that ‘Chaos’ is weak at punching and referred to him as the most fragile guy on the roster. However, these claims didn’t sit well with the 33-year-old.
Recently, ‘Chaos’ appeared in interaction with Brett Okamoto of ESPN MMA. He talked about his upcoming bout and few other things. And while addressing Masvidal’s claims, Covington said, “The fact is, no one wanted to fight me. I mean go to hunter Campbell, go to Dana White ask them the truth. You know no one would fight me, you know. Street Judas Masvidal all they wanted to make this big hype fight oh best friends turned rival.”

“Is he even awake yet or is he still sleeping from the last time he fought Usman? So I was trying to put on big and best fights for the UFC. No one wanted to take the bait. So now we are here and we gonna get the best fight in the welterweight division. And you know it’s gonna be a real treat for the fans.”
Will Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal fight each other?
Given Covington’s history of trash talking in the UFC, he has bad blood with almost all the fighters inside and outside the welterweight roster. He took many digs at his fellow welterweight Jorge Masvidal in several interviews. And the latter did the same. This lead to an open enmity between both the men.
‘Chaos’ is preparing for his title rematch against the current welterweight champion. On the other hand, ‘Gamebred’ is set to take on Leon Edwards in a welterweight bout. If the latter wins the bout, he will surely earn a title shot next.
