Mexican star Brandon Moreno is currently reigning supreme as the UFC flyweight champion. He became the undisputed champion at UFC 283 after a TKO win over Deiveson Figueiredo. In a recent interview with Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour show, he discussed the changes that has happened since becoming the UFC champion.

Brandon Moreno joined the UFC in the wake of an 8-fight winning streak in 2016. Since then, he has lost thrice, drawn twice, and won 9 fights in Dana White‘s promotion. Furthermore, ‘The Assassin Baby’ even cemented his legacy in the flyweight division, capturing the gold on two occasions.

Brandon Moreno details the changes in his life after becoming champion

During the interview with Ariel Helwani, Moreno mentioned that every time he spoke with the famous combat sports journalist, something or the other changed in his life. He said, “Every single time we talk together, all my life changed a little bit more.”

Furthermore, he also mentioned that fans surround him in public places whenever he’s with his family. However, he finds it to be strange since he likes to keep a low profile most of the time. ‘The Assassin Baby’ said, “Now, when I go the streets, when I go to the, I don’t know, the mall or whatever with my family, it’s kind of weird because I am a little bit introvert.”

Notably, Moreno became the first Mexican-born fighter to win a UFC gold. Moreno’s UFC 283 win was commemorated with a mural of his in the city of Tijuana.

‘The Assassin Baby’ remains respectful to fans

Brandon Moreno mentioned that he likes to spend time with his family and friends more than anything. However, he never denies a fan a photograph or an autograph whenever they approach him. Moreno tends to stay respectful because of the respect they have for him. He said, “I love to be just with my family, and at the same time, I am trying to be very educated, respectful, and nice with the people who are trying to ask for a picture or whatever.”

He claims that everything that happens is always for the better. Additionally, the flyweight champion also claims to have seen a lot of changes outside of his close circle. Nevertheless, there haven’t been any changes in his relationship with the people close to him. “A lot of changes around me outside of my circle, but I am always in. I am always with my people,” said ‘The Assassin Baby’.

Brandon Moreno seems to have pouted his rivalry with Deiveson Figueiredo in the rearview and is now seeking new challenges.
