Nick Diaz is set to return at UFC 310 and the Stockton Native will be taking on Vicente Luque again for a match that was supposed to happen in August at UFC Fight Night in Abu Dhabi. But wait, there appears to have been an interesting development about ‘the general.’ The 41-year-old has not fought since 2021 and has a record of 26-10 and is finally coming back into the octagon. His records are static right now with his last win coming in 2011 when he took down BJ Penn. On top of that, he is notorious for his smoking habits which even got him banned from UFC for a while. So now, some fans have shown concern after a video popped up with a Diaz lookalike.
There is a new video doing the rounds of the internet where a man who resembles Nick Diaz is sitting on the side of the street and doing something with a fire while shirtless. The woman taking the video even called the man out by saying, “Nick what? Are you okay? Are you alright?”

The man looked up and was agitated and not happy to see the video being filmed of him. The resemblance in figure and I’m being a namesake has got the fans on edge. Now the question is, was that the Stockton native? Let’s see what the fans have to say.

The video was not clear and the man was on the other side of the road from where the woman was taking the video. So his face was not visible clearly. However, some fans think it might be Diaz while others think it is not ‘Diablo’ One follower stated, “ Looks like him… but not him,” while another wrote, “That’s him. I recognize those collarbones a mile away.” Now this is a die-hard fan of Diaz since they can recognize him from his collarbones or maybe they know the operation that Diaz had on his neck because two of the discs had ruptured before the fight with Robbie Lawler at UFC 266.
Another fan spoke about his demeanour which was not adding up to the man in the video. They wrote, “Idk Nick smiling and waving at the camera doesn’t seem very characteristic.” There is indeed a general idea about him that he does not like doing media appearances. There might not be many fighters who have been as psychoanalyzed as Nick Diaz. Whether he does show up for training, misses press conferences, or unleashes a four-letter tirade on his opponents, Diaz has done it all. However, the man in the video looked up and interacted which was uncharacteristic when it comes to ‘Diablo’.

One fan even pointed out the man’s voice and compared it to the 41-year-old. They said, “That’s not Nick Diaz! That guy is younger and sounds like a kid,” while another follower said, “I don’t know, he’s speaking way too clearly.” It has been noticed by fans that he does slur his words when talking to the media. However back in 2015 he spoke to UFC and said, “I’d rather not be portrayed as an evil villain. But if people want to make me out to be that, and it sells tickets, that’s fine. But I do hope people understand that this is just what sells, and not what’s me. I’m just a mixed-martial artist from Stockton, California. And I’m still here.”

One fan even jokingly said, “It’s him he’s been homeless the last 3 weeks.” We do not know for sure if it’s true but we do know that he was suspended from UFC for 5 years for testing positive for marij–na after fighting Anderson Silva at UFC 183. However, it was later reduced to 18 months and he had to pay a fine of $100,000.
Lastly, a fan pointed out “Not Nick he would’ve Stockton slap the camera.” The Stockton Slap is a move that the Diaz brothers have nailed more than once and has become their signature. Nate Diaz was able to pull off a few good slaps on UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor at UFC 196 as well. So was it really Nick Diaz? What do you think?
