In just a few days, the UFC will host one of its biggest events in history. That event will be headlined by the 3rd fight between Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier. Coming into the fight, both fighters would love to win and end the trilogy on top.
When the two fighters fought back in January at the UFC 257 event, the fight ended with a victory for ‘The Diamond’. Now, with the score at 1-1, both fighters right at that moment decided that they will have a trilogy fight soon.
During their UFC 257 clash, both fighters were very respectful towards each other. However, leading up to this fight, all that has changed as the fighters seemed to have reignited the rivalry we saw during their first clash. In the build-up to the UFC’s PPV return to Las Vegas, both McGregor and Poirier, have taken constant jibes at each other on social media.

All of that came to the forefront as the pair finally saw each other face-to-face during the UFC 264 presser. Since the starting of the press conference, it was clear that both fighters would not hold back. McGregor and Poirier took constant jabs at each other, and in the end, the confrontation even became physical.

During the face-off, at the end of the press conference, ‘Notorious’ kicked Poirier and walked away. The UFC avoided any further disturbance as they quickly separated both fighters.
What to expect from the Conor McGregor vs Dustin Poirier fight at UFC 264?
Both the earlier fights between McGregor and Poirier have ended in a TKO. While McGregor won the first fight via a 1st round TKO, ‘The Diamond’ won the second fight via a 2nd round TKO.
Therefore, one can expect even this fight to start aggressively and end in a TKO. Backed on by his previous win, Poirier should be the more confident fighter stepping into the Octagon. However, one can never count out McGregor and his ability to surprise his opponent.

When it comes to the actual fight, McGregor will look to defend the calf kicks by Poirier as they were one of the main reasons for his loss in the last fight. ‘Notorious’ would also look to focus less on boxing and more on his traditional MMA style. On the flipside, Poirier would love to do everything he did last time and come out with another victory.
