It wouldn’t be wrong to say Conor McGregor is the biggest star produced by the UFC in almost three decades of its existence. Seldom are there athletes in combat sports who have a mainstream appeal of the magnitude like Conor McGregor.
But while nobody can deny his appeal inside and outside the octagon, there is one aspect of the fighter that has been in question in recent times. For those unaware, it’s the Irishman’s dedication towards his team in his recent role as the coach on the latest season of The Ultimate Fighter show. But now, weeks after the finale, someone has come to the defense of ‘Mystic Mac’ on our very own exclusive ES Fancast.

The latest season of TUF featuring Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler is now part of history. But even days after the show went off the air, allegations made by Chandler remain the talk of the town. According to ‘Iron,’ his rival was not as involved in his coaching duties for his team, leading to many upsets during the entire show.
However, it seems like someone from McGregor’s team would beg to differ from ‘Iron’ Mike. And it’s none other than the team’s nutritionist, Tristin Kennedy. Recently, the UCD alumni joined EssentiallySports exclusive ES Fancast in a chat with out host Noah Lack, to share his insight about the athlete’s life from his perspective. However, there, he also took his time to talk about the allegations. Defending Conor, Kennedy said that the Irishman was involved in all aspects, even weight cuts.
“But before he was heavily involved in all the transitions, most of the technology, even if he was, he was like, you know, because Conor is a busy man,” said Kennedy. Even while he was absent from the spot, the fighter would remain connected via phone. For those wondering, Kennedy was the team’s nutritionist during the entire season, and a word coming from him definitely holds the value of its own, like how a fight analysis does from McGregor himself.

McGregor ‘exposes’ Islam Makhachev’s illegal moves at UFC 294
Last week, Islam Makhachev sent shockwaves across the world after his round knockout of Alexander Volkanovski. Volkanovski, who at the time was pound-for-pound rank one in UFC’s official ranking, started out strong but soon found himself on the receiving end of a head kick from Makhachev, which put him on shaky skates. The Dagestani then followed the Aussie to the ground, unleashing a flurry of punches, which sealed the deal.
An impressive performance, but it looks like Conor McGregor has found something fishy in all this. Following the fight, the Irishman shared a clip that shows Makhachev landing illegal blows on the back of Volkanovski’s head, something which the referee seems to have missed.
