Conor McGregor and Joe Rogan, two of the most polarising figures from the UFC, got into a verbal banter last year. Rogan seemingly accused the Irishman of flouting USADA’s anti-doping protocols as McGregor has been sporting a massive physique lately.

It’s hard to believe that the Irishman had competed in the 145 lbs category once. In his podcast, Joe Rogan looked at McGregor’s new physique and claimed that the UFC star’s urine could melt the ‘USADA cup’.  In response, McGregor hit out at Rogan in a now-deleted social media post. Now in an exclusive interview with Essentially Sports, McGregor’s nutritionist has given a clear picture of the whole scene.

After almost a year of Joe Rogan’s claims, Conor McGregor’s nutritionist revealed the truth about his client’s physical status. Although USADA and UFC have now parted ways, Tristin Kennedy connected with us to give his opinion on whether McGregor breached any protocol.

Kennedy said, “When I look back at the 145 er you know, I say I he was tough gone. But once the many plays himself, he just blows it out of water. So again he blew that out of the water So, but Conor [McGregor] has never missed weight. Never once. Never once, missed weight.”

“So, yeah now if you ask him to go down to 145. That would entail probably a lot of muscle loss. So that wouldn’t be a good thing.”

The much-anticipated return of Conor McGregor is still on hold. It’s unclear when will he actually return and whom he faces. Michael Chandler continues to be a valid opponent for McGregor but there are still no official developments to the fight.

Per reports, Conor McGregor entered the USADA pool right before the split between the anti-doping agency and the UFC happened.

A belief evolved among MMA fans that McGregor is the main reason behind the partition.

Did the ‘Notorious’ cause the USADA-UFC Break?

The UFC and USADA have offered contradictory statements regarding why they would stop working together. Hence, it’s hard to understand whose side is more trustworthy. However, USADA clarified its stance of not prioritizing any athlete from the medical-testing parameters.

USADA representatives accused UFC of favoring Conor McGregor in the testing pool. They also said that UFC wanted to exempt ‘Notorious’ from an important test which USADA conducts and that upset the MMA promotion.

Meanwhile, UFC stated that they are trying to explore better anti-doping agencies than USADA who have better technology,

Hunter Campbell further addressed that the UFC was looking to replace USADA even a year ago. Meanwhile, UFC and USADA will be in working together up until January 2024. It remains to be seen when Conor McGregor will make his comeback amidst all the hype he created about it.
