There’s always some kind of controversy regarding the way fights are judged in the UFC in every other pay-per-view. This time, at UFC 310, controversy erupted when Alexander Volkov lost to Ciryl Gane via a split decision. For many people who witnessed how the fight panned out, the win was for the Russian star to earn. Nevertheless, Dana White seemed to understand that Volkov was wronged, and the 38-11 veteran’s team recently claimed that the CEO has promised to rectify this mistake.

During an interview with the TASS news agency, Alexander Volkov’s manager, Ivan Bannikov, came unglued regarding his loss to Ciryl Gane. While taking a shot at one of the judges, Adelaide Byrd, who also judges boxing matches, ‘Drago’s manager revealed that he and Dana White had a conversation after the fight. Fans saw Volkov having a chat with the UFC CEO after the fight at UFC 310, but later, the head honcho would later claim that they’re considering the Russian star over Ciryl Gane for the next title shot.

“The judge known for controversial decisions in boxing left a stain in this story as well. But we are thankful to the UFC management. They informed us that despite the ‘robbery’, Volkov is a title contender, not Gane,” Alexander Volkov’s manager stated.

Well, Dana White may have settled the issue, at least verbally, for now, but Alexander Volkov was livid at the judges and even gave them a piece of his mind. Can you believe what he said about the decision? Well, he claimed that it was all “bullsh*t.”

Alexander Volkov goes on a rant on the judges after his UFC 310 loss

Alexander Volkov was on a roll as he stepped inside the Octagon to fight Ciryl Gane. He was on a 4-fight winning streak, in the last of which he defeated the likes of fellow Russian contender Sergei Pavlovich. So, the hopes were high in his camp to clinch a win against ‘Bon Gamin’. He put up a pretty good fight and gave Gane a run for his money, but the results of the fight not only shocked Volkov but also the whole crowd at the T-Mobile Arena, and Gane’s win was met with a lot of jeers.

What’s your perspective on:

Did the judges rob Volkov of a rightful victory, or was Gane the true winner at UFC 310?

Have an interesting take?

Understandably, Alexander Volkov wasn’t happy with what transpired, and as a result, he unloaded on the UFC judges. “It was a bullsh*t decision, for sure [and] I don’t accept this. I don’t know what we’re going to do with the decision. I’m absolutely sure I won the fight [because] I did much more than Gane,” the veteran Russian fighter stated in the post-fight presser. His main source of argument was the fact that the Frenchman didn’t really do as much damage as he did to him. Hence, Volkov found it hard to comprehend how the judges arrived at such a conclusion to give Ciryl Gane the victory.

It remains to be seen what kind of promise Dana White made to Alexander Volkov and how it will affect Ciryl Gane’s path to UFC gold. Nevertheless, let us know what you think about the judges’ decision for the fight in the comments down below.
