After the UFC 303 fiasco, UFC CEO Dana White emphasized that he would not talk about Conor McGregor‘s return till the fighter is ready. White even doubled down on the fact that McGregor might not be able to fight this year. However, the dynamics of his stance on that appears to have changed. Isn’t that a bold claim? Well, during a recent Instagram live session, Dana White dropped a bombshell that he would be announcing something about McGregor. Now if that was not enough, an important person from the ‘Notorious’ team has come forward to shed light upon his return.
The MMA community has been waiting for Conor McGregor’s return for quite some time now. The former dual weight champion of the world was supposed to make a comeback against Michael Chandler at UFC 303, however, due to a sudden toe injury, he had to withdraw from the match. McGregor ascertained that he would be coming back to the Octagon by the end of the year and it seems to be happening.

Dana White provoked a storm with his Instagram Live which was silent for months now. What did the UFC CEO say that made the entire MMA community excited for the coming months? He declared, “We talked about Conor today. We got Conor news coming up. We’ve got Conor news coming up, we’ve got (Charles) Oliveira news coming up, we’ve got (Michael) Chandler news coming up, we’ve got Max Holloway news coming up, all that good sh-t coming soon.” Just when the community thought that the UFC couldn’t get any better Dana White dropped a bombshell on them.
However, how much of a possibility is it for Conor McGregor to make a comeback during UFC 310? Well, the question has been answered by one of McGregor’s closest friends and photographer, Dave Fogarty. While in conversation with ‘Bloody Elbow’, Fogarty ascertains that McGregor is for sure making a comeback during December, “Without a doubt,” told Fogarty.
He further added, “I know Conor is pushing for December or something towards the end of the year. That’s what I think will happen, he’ll fight when he’s ready. I don’t do much training when I’m there, but not much. To be honest with you, when I take this belt I’ll continue doing the pads with Phil [Sutcliffe, boxing coach] and just keeping the skills sharp.”
Dave Fogarty might be of the opinion that ‘Mystic Mac’s comeback is certain for December at UFC 310 but the UFC CEO might have a different plan. The immediate close circle of Dana White believes that the top brass of the promotion including Dana White might shift the fight dates beyond December.

Chael Sonnen is a bit skeptical about McGregor’s return this year
Dana White had to face a bit of humiliation at the UFC 303 as Conor McGregor dropped out of his fight and it appears that the UFC CEO is in no mood to take that chance once again. Regardless, former UFC fighter, Chael Sonnen believes that the top brass of the promotion is planning to keep Conor McGregor’s fight in January rather than in December.

Regardless, while having a conversation on his YouTube handle, Sonnen emphasized, “An inside scoop that I’m getting is that the UFC wants all of those same things [McGregor vs. Chandler] they just wanted in January in California. I mean it sounds like you got to know who you’re going to believe, right?” Sonnen doesn’t specifically give any date for the return but ascertained that UFC 310 might be difficult.
It must be noted that Arman Tsarukyan has been calling out the UFC CEO to either schedule a fight for the lightweight title or the interim lightweight title during December, so there’s a high possibility that instead of the McGregor fight, White might go have for that.
