Challenging one’s psyche is like peeling the layers of an onion while exploring the new and undiscovered raw fabrics of belief, emotions, and perception. It’s not simply about confronting our fears or breaking the realm of our habits, but it’s about reshaping the very foundation of how we view ourselves. Putting it in less vague terms – facing your inner demons removes an element of fear inside you, and it appears that Joe Rogan‘s way of challenging his psyche is a bit different than the more conventional methods out there.
This week, Joe Rogan had American ͏act͏or Jos͏h Brolin as a guest on The͏ Jo͏e Rogan Experience (#2232͏) where the duo got quite candid.͏ Duri͏ng the͏ir exchange, the act͏or asked͏ Ro͏gan a question that made him think deeply, “What’s the most dangerous that you do now? Do you find it necessary to go out and do things that challenge you in a way? Challenge your psyche?”. What do you think, is the multi-million dollar way to challenge his psyche? Well, without any single hesitation, Rogan emphasized that “elk hunting” is the most exciting way he keeps his psyche challenged.
Brolin was a bit puzzled by Joe Rogan’s choice and asked for the reason behind it, “Why? Because it puts you in danger?”. In reply, Joe Rogan emphasized that it’s not just about difficulty but rather the thrill of the experience, “No, it’s just really difficult. You know, you’re bow hunting in the mountains, right? And it’s just you in the mountains, and [it’s] just… fu–ing mountain.”

Yeah, see, that’s a different thing. You know, people say, ‘I don’t like it’. Personally, I like it. I grew up in a very red part of California. Everybody hunts that I grew up with. And, I would hunt with my dad. And I would, like, f–king think about it and dream about it for three weeks.”
So, how often does the podcaster eat elk meat? Well, the frequency of his consumption pattern might shock the fans, and be warned – Rogan’s diet is not for the faint-hearted.
