Conor McGregor is not only an amazing UFC fighter, but also a business mogul who has a net worth of $200 million, which makes him one of the richest athletes. McGregor is the owner of many successful ventures, including the whiskey brand Proper No. Twelve, whose majority stake was acquired by Proximo Spirits for reportedly $600 million in 2021. However, he was angry recently about the 6-cent rise in Diageo’s liquor prices in Ireland.
Now there is also news that Diageo is going to decarbonise St James Gate Brewery, which made the Irishman irate because they are using a lot of money for that.

McGregor recently replied to a tweet which now stands deleted, by Irish Independent which read, “Diageo announces €100m plan to decarbonise St James’s Gate brewery in Dublin.” The Notorious replied, “So why all the price hikes?” Why was he annoyed, though? It is because Diageo has announced yet another price hike of 6 cents, and this is the third hike in prices for liquor in 18 months.
However, now they claim to be decarbonizing St James’ brewery with a whopping €100m plan, which irked Mystic Mac. Diageo blamed the rising input costs across its operations in Ireland despite the inflation decrease. They also said that, as a result, they were changing the list prices on their liquor product. This included the Guinness, which increased by €0.06 per pint or €5.28 per 50 litre keg.
