‘Blessed’ shared a post on X (formerly known as Twitter) and mentioned that the wildfires were nothing short of traumatizing for him. The loss of lives and the look of devastation on the faces of the Hawaiian people affected him a lot. Holloway said, “Before doing my media day, I shared a post of loved ones that have passed away to the Maui fires. Seeing faces of children, families, kapunas… it hit me hard.”

While he did thank the UFC for their efforts to help his native land, he also confirmed that the song to which he’ll walk out for his upcoming fight will be dedicated to the affected people in his native land. “In honor of those lives that have been lost in the fire and to the heroes that are doing what they can, my walk out song is dedicated to you guys,” said Max Holloway. Not only that, he has another change in mind.

Holloway’s fight gear will also see a change

The former champion used to traditionally come out to fight in black trunks. However, this time, his fight gear will also represent his native land, with red-colored trunks. Holloway further said, “Also in solidarity to the people of Lahaina, I will be wearing red trunks in my fight for the first time.
